25th: NCSE sent us these top topics to pass onto our parents. They are broken up per classroom.
March 23rd: Week 2 of closures might be a good time to set up a schedule. Children cope better when they know what the plan is. This is just an example I found. Yours will look different but we find children are more able to concentrate/learn in the morning so maybe plan for the academics to be completed in the morning.
The resources we are receiving are for online distance learning on devices as we are not in a school setting. This can be difficult is you are working from home & need your device or if the internet connection is poor. So here is a great list of activities for NON screen-time.
March 19th: You may have seen this link on the news. Plenty of help in it.

For those with Netflix, here is a list of educational shows.
Also, some of the books the children use are by the company EDCO. They have given username & passwords to use at home, which gives you access to ALL of their publications. They have some wonderful books, so feel free to read some topics with your children or write the answers into a copy...

Nov 24th: For those interested in learning some Irish at home, check out duolingo.com. Your child can also use it.
Your child can also practise their spellings on spellingcity.com. Their log in details were sent home last year but if lost we can send them home again.

Oct 14th: Another topic parents often ask for advice on is time. Here are some useful displays you can make at home. Mine are not as fancy as those at home but very effect with my own kids. The 1st clock might be handy for those reluctant to head to bed.. giving a warning and count down can be effective.
Also setting a timer on your phone to help them get their homework completely quickly can be useful, especially for those easily distracted.
